Summer Color Collection

It is like Christmas for us Merle girls whenever we receive new colors! The summer color collection just launched and it is so beautiful this year! The trend for this year is very feminine. It is soft pinks and luscious violets all in watercolor palettes! Another exciting launch is the Purely Mineral Powder in a new pressed formula. As most of you may well know it has only been available previously in a loose formulation. This is so much more convenient to travel with and apply your touch ups throughout the day! Kylene was given a makeover in all the new product.

Foundation: A great idea to give your skin more breathing room during the hot summers, is to switch from liquid to powder or tinted moisturizer. Kylene chose to try the new Purely Mineral Pressed Powder. She found that it gave an amazing glow to her skin, as well as, gave her great coverage.

Cheeks: Summer tip: to look more "fresh" or "natural" is to layer your blush colors. Kylene is using a cream-to-powder blush in Pink Cashmere and applying it with a sponge. If you accidentally use too much in a spot then use the warmth of your fingers to smooth. Then she follows with a Lasting Cheekcolor in Soft Pink for a fresh rosy glow. Another tip Kylene does is to sweep the powder blush along her apple of the cheek up to the brow for a soft glow.

Brows: ALWAYS start with the brows! This is the easiest way to see the real shape of the eyes. The best benefit for starting with the brows is to ensure you don't go overboard with adding color. Many times I find that when the eyes aren't "popping" like you want to, it's because the brows aren't defined. Kylene chose to use the Tinted brow sealer in Light Brown(the most neutral color) followed by Auburn Only Natural brow powder and don't forget to blend!

Eyes: The first step is to always prep the eye with an eyeshadow base so the colors stay put. Especially during the sweaty Texas summers! Kylene chose to use the new Lasting Creme Shadows in Bubble Gum. She applies this with a brush for smooth even application.
She chose to use the new Glimmer Bars eyeshadow palette in Dreamy Pinks. This is a collection of four eye shadows in one case. She started with the 2nd to lightest shade as an all over wash on and under the eye. Followed by using the 3rd eye shadow in the crease making a checkmark by pulling it into the corner of her lash line.
Next she applies the new Age defying eyeliner in Royal Purple all along her lash lid in a thick line.
Then she softens and brings in more drama by applying the darkest shade over her newly applied liner. Following this step she takes the lightest shade and brightens her eyes by applying it under the brows and in the corner of her eyes. Last: BLEND!
Finished eyes:

Lips: Since we went soft with the eyes and summer is about juicy lips she chose to use the new Automatic Lip Pencil in Fiesta Rose. To add more berry she added the new Lip Glaze in Berry Jubilee.
